For Honor - 桜 - Sakura

„Be not afraid. Your soul is now mine!“

Hey I am back with a new illustration.
For Honor is bringing a new samurai hero into the game.
The Hitokiri. A clan of fierce executioners that wield the masakari axe.
The character in this illustration is supposed to be Sakura, the face and hero of this season.
She has a twisted personality.
The idea of this illustration is based on an experience which I made when I was in Japan.
On Mount Fushimi Inari I strayed from a path and went deep into a bamboo grove.
As I sat down on the very soft floor I listend to the sound of the forest and bamboo clunking against each other.
It was a very calming but also mystical experience.
I tried to capture that mood and also give it a very eerie feeling.
The ghosts are inspired by the art of Zen Chin.
